I’ve just bought this on the strength of the cover alone – it’s absolutely beautiful and hints at the setting and intricacy of the book without needing any extra text.
The more you look at this picture, the more you see and the more clues it gives you as to its Australian origins. It’s a beautifully chosen, intriguing image that compels you to unpick the title, while allowing the use of a strong but unique font.
A great example of a jacket being treated as a beautiful object that promotes itself, with no need for masses of hard-sell copy.
